As with all software, it is recommended that you back up your data periodically in case of system failure. If you are running TheStashCan - Downloadable Version, don't worry about software replacement should your system crash! We have complete customer records and should you need to move to another PC or restore, you will be able to re-download TheStashCan and re-register with a new registration # and software key at NO CHARGE! By the same token, TheStashCan CD owners can re-install from their CD and re-register at NO CHARGE.

However, that will only replace your software ... that will not help you with your Stash data. In order to ensure complete recoverability, it is highly recommended that you make back up copies of the following files which are located in your TheStashCan folder on a regular basis:

#1: ALL files with the name stash_types.* (the asterick indicates ALL versions of the file extension)

#2: ALL files with the name stash_styles.* (the asterick indicates ALL versions of the file extension)

#3: ALL files with the name stash_manufacturers.* (the asterick indicates ALL versions of the file extension)

#4: ALL files with the name stash_publishers.* (the asterick indicates ALL versions of the file extension)

#5: ALL files with the name stash_master.*(the asterick indicates ALL versions of the file extension)

If your system should "crash", you'd re-install TheStashCan and then "overlay" the files in your TheStashCan folder with your latest backup copy! You'd be good as new!
